Moldova Ambassador to Italy recalled
President Vladimir Voronin signed a decree on the recall of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Moldova to the Republic of Italy, Nicolae Dudau.
Nicolae Dudau, 61, graduated from the Technical University of Moldova. He started his activity at the Tractor Plant and afterwards held different party offices in the Soviet period.
After the proclamation of Moldova’s independence he worked in several diplomatic missions in the former Soviet republics. From 2001 to 2004 he served as minister of Foreign Affairs. On February 13, 2004 he was appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Moldova to the Republic of Italy.
From unconfirmed sources, Dudau might be replaced in this office by the incumbent Minister of Interior, Gheorghe Papuc.
