Mircea Surdu resigned from the post of director of the public TV channel Moldova 1. He made the announcement on a social networking site. Mircea Surdu said he decided to withdraw in order to make documentaries as this is an activity that brings more satisfaction to him, IPN reports.

“After almost five years of work at this channel, during which I shared my accomplishments and plans for the future with my colleagues, I ultimately reached the end of the series of things that I pledged to do,” Mircea Surdu wrote on his Facebook page.

Mircea Surdu was chosen director of the public TV channel Moldova 1 in December 2012.

According to trm.md, in a meeting of the administration bodies of the TV channel on June 26, the vice director of Moldova 1 Leonid Melnic also tendered his resignation.
