Moldova 1 director’s chair up for grabs

The Monitors Council of Teleradio-Moldova Company will announce today, June 29, the vacancy for the position of director of the public television channel Moldova 1. The information was presented during parliamentary hearings by MO chairman Eugeniu Ribca, Info-Prim Neo reports. The position became available after Angela Sirbu left, in March. The contest organized in May failed because none of the candidates to replace her obtained enough votes. One of the 12 candidates withdrew from the contest not long before the voting. In the first round, 28 year old Vitalie Cojocari, reporter of ProTV Bucharest, obtained two votes and Efim Josanu, deputy director of Moldova 1, obtained three votes. In the second round, the votes’ distribution was same. Later, MO members amended the regulation regarding the election of the Moldova 1 director. The focus will be on the candidates’ managerial skills. The time allotted for them to present their intentions of development of the channel was increased from 7 to 10 minutes. Additionally, the time allotted for MO members to put questions was extended from 10 to 20 minutes. Another amendment refers to the intentions of development and management. The focus will be on knowledge of internal paperwork, of the development strategy for 2010-2015 and the implementation of the institutional reform.
