“Moldova 1” director withdraws resignation

The director of the public TV channel “Moldova 1” Angela Sirbu withdrew her resignation. Asked by Info-Prim Neo, Angela Sirbu said the structural reform of the National Public Broadcaster “Teleradio-Moldova” (TRM) reached a crucial stage when it either becomes irreversible or the state of affairs is maintained and there will be no useful programs of a high quality for the viewers. “The company’s manager assured me that there is will for this reform to be implemented as soon as possible,” Angela Sirbu said after the meeting of the TRM’s Supervisory Board on December 17. Before the meeting, the Board’s chairman Eugeniu Rybka said Angela Sirbu withdrew the resignation that she tendered on December 9. “Under the law, the employee can write a new application whereby to annul the resignation. In such a case, it is considered that the resignation did not exist,” he stated. According to Eugeniu Rybka, they discussed the reasons neither when the application was handed in, not when it was withdrawn. “The motives would have been discussed, if the second application hadn’t been filed,” he said. Angela Sirbu was named director of “Moldova 1” last February.
