The exhibitions center “Moldexpo” will be transformed into an center intended for persons suspected of having caught the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), with a capacity of 700 places, until next Wednesday, Prime Minister Ion Chicu stated after the meeting of the Single Command Center.

He was quoted by IPN as saying that a hospital will be improvised at “Moldexpo” by ensuring privacy conditions. The 700 places will be set up on an area of 5,000 square meters.

“Specialists assessed the situation on the spot and all the necessary works there will be completed by next Wednesday,” stated Premier Chicu.

He also said that there are now six institutions in Chisinau that are dealing with persons suspected or confirmed to have the novel coronavirus. Hospitals were also activated in Bălți and Cahul and some more institutions with a regional status are being outfitted.

Another 32 cases of infection with COVID-19 were confirmed during the past 24 hours, one of import and 31 locally transmitted. Premier Chicu said two more persons treated for this virus were discharged.

The number of infections now rose to 263. Thirteen persons got cured, while two died.
