Moldcell to invest US$14m in developing infrastructure

Mobile phone carrier Moldcell intends to continue developing its business in Moldova and will invest US$14 million in infrastructure this year. The announcement was made during a meeting of Prime Minister Vlad Filat and a group of investors representing the company TeliaSonera, Info-Prim Neo reports. The meeting was attended by the president of TeliaSonera Lars Nyberg, president of TeliaSonera Eurasia and director for the Caucasus Region Tero Kivisaari, former director of IM Moldcell Halim Ates and current director general of Moldcell Chiril Gaburici. Lars Nyberg said TeliaSonera, as owner of the major holding in the Dutch company Fintur Holdings BV, which is the main shareholder of Moldcell, has plans to expand the business in Moldova and will continue to develop the local infrastructure. The businessmen said they are satisfied with the results achieved in Moldova, stressing that the personnel in Moldova show promising potential.
