“Moldavskaya GRAS” to also supply electric power to Moldova

SA “Energocom” has signed a contract for the supply of electric power to Moldova with ZAO “Moldavskaya GRAS”. The contract took effect on June 5, 2017 and is valid until March 31, 2018, as the contract signed with Ukraine’s “DTEK Traiding” at the end of March, IPN reports.

In a press release, “Energocom” says that to strengthen Moldova’s energy security and diversify the sources of power supply, at the end of this March it negotiated and signed a contract for the supply of electricity with “DTEK Traiding”, based on the lowest bid submitted then. This expires on March 31, 2018.

After the contract was signed with the Ukrainian company, “Moldavskaya GRAS” presented a new bid that was more advantageous than the initial one, offering a price by about 10% lower than the price paid now by “Energocom”. It was later decided to also sign a contract with “Moldavskaya GRAS”.

The two contracts guarantee the provision of Moldova with electric power - 30% by the Ukrainian company and 70% by “Moldavskaya GRAS”. According to “Energocom”, this will enable the Moldovan end-users to benefit from the most advantageous and safe conditions of electricity supply during the contractual period.
