Moldavian Airlines will seek damages of €1.5m from Transport Ministry

Moldavian Airlines will sue Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure Anatol Salaru and claim damages of €1.5 million from him if the company's summer charter routes Chisinau-Antalya are not authorized, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Anatol Salaru must know that we will defend our rights in all the courts. We will seek damages not only from the state Moldova, but also from the minister and employees of the Ministry, who violate the fundamental rights of the economic entities,” Moldavian Airlines president Nicolae Petrov said in a news conference, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. According to Nicolae Petrov, the Chisinau Court of Appeals suspended the regulations concerning the implementation of the charter program formulated by the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure. The National Agency for Competition Protection and the Ministry of Justice established that many of the provisions of the given document are illegal. “The Ministry does nothing but make sure that the fraudulent charter schemes devised by Air Moldova in concert with travel agencies are implemented smoothly. They hamper Moldavian Airlines and the travel agencies that want to compete freely on the tourism and air transportat markets of Moldova,” said Nicolae Petrov. Moldavian Airlines is a private company with national and European capital.
