MoldAtsa ex-director could be heard by bank fraud inquiry commission

Sorin Stati, former director of MoldAtsa, could be summoned to be heard by the Bank Fraud Inquiry Commission, and the decision will be taken on August 21, said Alexandru Slusari.

In a message to the Commission, Sorin Stati writes that during the time when he ran MoldAtsa, Viorel Chetraru, deputy chairman of the Court of Audits, informed him that he was obligated to place all MoldAtsa accounts at Unibank.

Also, Sorin Stati  says that he was daily pressured to do so by Francesco Talmaci, currently employed by the Ministry of Finance and retired from the National Anticorruption Center (CNA), who threatened him with negative consequences from the CNA.

“As soon as the parliamentary Bank Fraud Inquiry Commission was established, I approached Igor Grosu, PAS deputy, with the request to be invited to the Commission’s hearings, informing him that I possess evidence that until now has not been made public and which demonstrates the direct involvement in this fraud of some state officials, who at the moment were known to have only covered up the criminal investigation”, writes Sorin Stati in his message.
