The new surgery block of the National Clinical Hospital will be inaugurated on May 6. The four-story building has 16 surgery wards with intensive care sections for 75 patients. They are all equipped according to the latest global trends in medicine, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the Ministry of Health, the new block will provide new opportunities for surgical treatment. The inauguration will be attended by government officials, representatives of the local public administration, ministries, foreign development partners, etc.
The construction works started in the spring of 2009. The building is over 10,000 square meters in area. It includes a sterilization block, an emergency and metabiopsy laboratory and a blood bank.
The cost of the project is €26.5 million. Of this sum, US$3 million is the World Bank’s loan, €9 million is the concessional loan of the Council of Europe Development Bank, €3 million is the grant of the Neighborhood Investment Facility, while the rest of the money was provided by the Government and other donors.
