Modern playground for Chisinau children

The beach of La Izvor Park in Chisinau now boasts a new, modern playground, the first of the four planned to be installed by the municipality this month. Launched on Saturday, August 9, the playground features slides, swings, seesaws, monkey bars, a sandbox, etc, which can be used both by children and adults. The first kids who came to try the new playground were invited by City Hall officials to inaugurate the area. They launched silver balloons into the air and applauded, cheering noisily. The kids say they are happy with the new playground, while the parents say they are happy for their children, who now have a place to be active and play freely on. According to Eliferie Haruta, head of the Green Space Management, the equipment installed at the playground had a cost of 159,000 lei and was purchased following a tender auction. The beach was also beautified, and although swimming is forbidden in the park’s pond, the kids don’t miss the chance to have a bath. Eliferie Haruta said such playgrounds are to be installed next week in the parks Valea Trandafiilor and Rascani. The fourth will be installed in Vadul lui Voda, but not before the effects of the recent floods are removed. The four sets of playground equipment have cost the city’s coffers a total of 497,000 lei.
