Acting President Mihai Ghimpu considers the statements about the wrongdoings committed by businessman Vlad Plohotniuc, made by former presidential adviser Sergiu Mocanu, are conditioned by the election campaign. He rejected the accusations that Vlad Plohotniuc controls the Alliance for European Integration, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Nobody will direct Ghimpu, not even the European officials. I think Prime Minister Vlad Filat is neither directed. I saw the scheme presented by Mocanu, but I think we must not deal with drawings, shifting the responsibility from those who have robbed the country until now onto the Alliance for European Integration,” Mihai Ghimpu said. He also said that he got acquainted with Vlad Plohotniuc several years ago and has had no contact with him since then. Yesterday, Mihai Ghimpu convoked the heads of the Ministry of the Interior, the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Security and Information Service and of the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime, requesting that they provide information about this case in a week.
