Mobile telephone sector has recovered
The turnover of the three mobile phone operators working in Moldova in the first nine months of this year rose by 15.4% compared with the corresponding period last year to over 2 billion lei, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the national ICT regulator.
The sales of Orange Moldova increased by about 16%, of Moldcell – by 19.5%, while of Moldtelecom's brand Unite fell by 13.8%. By turnover, Orange Moldovade has a market share of 73.03%, while Moldcell and Moldtelecom – of 24.59% and 2.37% respectively.
The larger revenues stemmed from the rise in the number of users of mobile phone services. The number of users in the period grew by 9% to about 3 million, while the mobile phone penetration rate per 100 people rose by 4.6% to 83%.
The number of users of 3G Internet connection increased by 32.6% to 105,900 on October 1.
