Children and young persons with marked or severe disabilities and those facing the risk of being abandoned or institutionalized will receive social and medical assistance at home. The social service called “Mobile Team” will be implemented until 2012, Info-Prim Neo reports. In the launch of the service on November 17, Svetlana Chifa, head of the Municipal Child Rights Protection Division, said that the “Mobile Team” started work in June, but time was needed to identity the beneficiaries. The service is aimed at improving the life of the disabled children and young people by providing counseling, psychosocial rehabilitation and recuperation services and medical consultancy. The team consists of a social worker and a kinetotherapist. Ina Nenov, coordination of the service “Mobile Team” Chisinau, said the specialists working with these children have a poor experience and thus their continuous training is a priority. The parents will be helped to better look after the children. The social service called “Mobile Team” is implemented by the Municipal Child Rights Protection Division and the public association Keystone Human Services International Moldova, with support from Open Society Foundations and Soros Foundation Moldova.
