For the first time in Moldova, the contest Miss Wine Queen 2014 will be organized as part of the National Wine Day Festival on October 3. The goal of the contest is to select a girl to represent Moldovan wines and to promote them at various national and international events for the next year, IPN reports.
The pageant's organizing committee announced that 11 girls would be selected to compete in the final for the Wine Queen title in contests of national costumes, wine-themed artistic creation, evening dresses and knowledge about winemaking. The jury will consist of 7-12 members, renowned people from Moldova and abroad.
To promote century-old Moldovan winemaking values through beauty and intelligence, girls from all over the country are invited to participate. Young women aged between 18 and 27, with a height of at least 1.70 meters, who speak fluent English, are invited to register at www.reginavinului.md between August 21 and September 5.
The winner of the beauty pageant will receive a generous money prize, stipulated in the contest's regulation, and will sign an exclusive one-year contract for promoting Moldovan wines abroad. The preliminary selection is scheduled for September 6-7. The selected girls will be invited according to a set timetable. The regulation and additional information can be found at www.reginavinului.md.
The contest has a long tradition in some EU countries. In Germany, it has reached the 65th edition.
