Minors who killed girl in Straseni get harshest penalty

The three minors who killed a teenage girl in Straseni town were sentenced to six years and eight months in jail on April 26.

Contacted by IPN, prosecutor of Straseni district Alexandru Rata said this sentence is the harshest possible for minors. The fourth suspect in this case, who was only 13 when the crime was committed, wasn’t jailed. His parents were fined a minimum amount for inappropriately fulfilling the child education obligations.

The three minors are held in Penitentiary No. 13. When the sentence takes effect, they will be taken to a penitentiary for minors.

A girl aged 14 was found dead in an unfinished building in Straseni on November 30, 2016. Four suspects who were all minors were arrested shortly afterward. One of them was the ex-boyfriend of the girl.
