The election of the executive bodies of Parliament by two pro-European parties with the support of the Communist lawmakers is a better solution than early elections, said experts invited to the talk show “Dogaru’s country” produced by Publika TV channel, IPN reports.

Alexandru Cauia, dean of the Law Faculty of the Moldova Free International University, voiced hope that the Liberal Party will yet take part in governance. “What the PLDM and PDM signed today is not a legal, but a political document that leaves room for interpretation. I hope that the PDM and PLDM will ultimately find a solution, at least at theoretical level. The seven weeks of negotiations do not count. It is the stability that counts. I hope that we will have political stability over the next four years,” he stated.

Valeriu Cerba, pro-rector at the Academy of Economic Studies, expressed his regret at the fact that the PL does not take part in governance and considers that the PDM and PLDM assumed too much responsibility by undertaking governance in the absence of a parliamentary majority. “Practice shows that a coalition without a parliamentary majority cannot ensure long-term governance. The three pro-European parties were obliged to form a government coalition. The PDM and PLDM assumed enormous responsibility,” said the colonel in reserve.

Ecaterina Mardarovici, executive director of the Women’s Political Club 50/50, considers that Moldova’s people should be yet congratulated on the fact that the Parliament’s administration was ultimately elected.  “We expect a broad coalition, but I think this coalition is a real one,” said the former MP.

Blogger Nicolae Pascaru, who heads the Federation of Martial Arts “Voievod”, noted that Moldova will have an unprecedented ‘exotic’ government where there will be present all the political segments from the right to the left.
