A teenager aged 16 died after the car he was driving overturned and ran into a tree. It happened after his friend aged 15 took the car from the yard of his relatives for a ride. A 15-year-old girl travelled with the two in the car. The police in Soroca were informed about the accident that happened near Cosăuți village in the morning of October 20, IPN reports.

According to the General Police Inspectorate, driving the car, the 16-year-old boy neglected the situation on the road and didn’t adjust the speed. At a turn, he lost control of the vehicle. The car overturned and crashed into a tree. The driver died before an ambulance arrived. The two passengers didn’t suffer serious injuries.

A criminal case was started. The breath test showed the boy aged 15 was inebriated. It is not yet known if the driver was also under the influence.

The police call on the parents to supervise the children and to monitor their activities so as to protect them from eventual dangers.
