Minor detainees in Lipcani to take part in International Creation Festival
The 12th International Creation Festival for minor prisoners will take place in Lipcani, Briceni, on July 24. This year, the festival in Moldova is dedicated to the late poet Grigore Vieru, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“The baton goes through all the penitentiary institutions for minors of Moldova and Ukraine. Last year, the Russian Federation was also included in the program of the festival,” said Oleg Pantea, of the Department of Penitentiary Institutions.
During the two-hour concert, the minor detains will perform plays, recite poems and sing songs by Grigore Vieru’s verses.
“For the first time this year, the parents of the detainees will attend the festival alongside invitees from Moldovan and Ukrainian penitentiary institutions,” Oleg Pantea said.
The concert will also involve artistic groups from outside the penitentiary, like the one from Pererata village, where Grigore Vieru was born, the children’s group from Criva, Briceni, the band “Octava” from Chisinau, and artistic groups from Balti and Edinet. An exhibition of the poet’s books will be staged in the Lipcani penitentiary as part of the festival. There will be given a charity meal for the minor detainees.
Ukraine dedicated this year’s festival to the 65 years of the end of the World War II.
