The Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure has intensified inspections in a move to combat the illegal transportation of passengers. The inspections will be carried out all over the country and at state border crossing points, IPN reports.

If cases of illegal transportation are discovered, the drivers could be deprived of the right to use the motor vehicle by withdrawing the license plate and registration certificate, with a relevant report being drawn up. The suspension measure is applied for a period of six months.

The culprit will also have to cover the possible costs associated with the transportation of the detained vehicle and to meet the required conditions so as to comply with the law.
