The Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family suggests extending the period of probation on employment for unskilled workers to 30 days, up from the current 15 days. According to the authors of the bill to amend the Labor Code, such a measure would ensure the effective examination of the professional abilities of candidates, IPN reports.
The bill provides that one of the parents who have an invalid child should be given an additional nonworking day once a month. The employee will be entitled to leave on one’s own account for a period of 120 calendar days, up from 60 days now.
The employer will have the right to reduce, if need be, the job vacated by the employee who went on additional unpaid leave to look after the child aged between three to six. But the employer will be obliged to offer the given employee another equivalent job on return.
The bill authors consider that the employer should be able to hold an internal inquiry within one month. Disciplinary penalties will be imposed immediately after identifying irregularities, but not later than one month from the day they are identified. The data about the salary will be confidential within two years of the termination of the work contract, not one year as at present.
