The Ministry of the Interior will propose alternative measures to penalize drivers who park illegally given the complaints coming from drivers and people, Vitalie Gamurari, spokesman for the Democratic Party (PDM), said after the party’s weekly meeting, IPN reports.
Vitalie Gamurari noted that the problem is especially pressing in Chisinau, where the citizens are affected by illegal parking and the drivers have to wait for hours for a traffic inspector to come to compile a repot and to return the seized license plates. Particular changes in this regard could be made to the legislation.
The party’s administration on November 14 also discussed the inclusion of the phrase “Romanian language” in the Constitution. According to Vitalie Gamurari, there are members of the PDM who support such an idea, but others oppose it. The Democratic leader Vlad Plahotniuc in the meeting said the language he speaks is Romanian and, no matter how the people call their language, they should speak it correctly. The PDM will not have a common position on the issue and each MP will state his/her own opinion.
The Cabinet reshuffle based on the assessment of the work done by ministers was another subject for discussion. The assessments are to be completed by mid-December. The ministers who will not carry out their tasks will be dismissed.
As to the recent press reports that Vlad Plahotniuc is investigated in Romania, the PDM’s spokesman said this is not true.
