The Ministry of the Interior on August 5 launched the contest “A Disciplined Driver 2015”, which will close on September 13, IPN reports.
Marin Maxian, head of the National Patrolling Inspectorate, told a news conference that the contest is aimed at encouraging the drivers to respect the traffic rules. “We struggle only with those who break the law, but we must also have a relationship with those who obey the law and encourage them and be an example for them,” he stated.
The contest forms part of a series of activities aimed at promoting the image of the police. “In August, we will also stage the “Black Beret” contest, which is intended for members of the Special Police Brigade “Fulger”, and a contest for policewomen and will launch an informative bulletin about the results of the work of the police. The results of these contests will be made public in a special ceremony in the Great National Assembly Square in Chisinau on September 13,” said deputy minister of the interior Oleg Babin.
The contest is open to any driver who received a driver’s license at least three years ago, has a vehicle, drives daily and didn’t violate the traffic rules during the last 12 months.
