Ministry of Health suggests regulations to govern activity of swimming pools

The activity of swimming pools will be regulated by a new document. The Ministry of Health proposed the relevant draft sanitary regulations for public debates on particip.gov.md, IPN reports.

Under the informative note to the regulations, the necessity of such a document derives from the international commitments undertaken by Moldova in the field of health. The regulations define the sanitary norms for swimming polls and the requirements concerning the designing, laying out and exploitation of polls and the quality of water. The document also stipulates measures for preventing dangers in pools.

In the Republic of Moldova, there are over 120 swimming polls, 44 of which are situated in the municipality of Chisinau. Now these are subject only to sanitary surveillance by the State Public Health Surveillance Service, the quality of water being monitored periodically.

If the regulations are approved, the costs that will appear will be incurred by the business entities that own swimming polls. They will have to adjust these to the new requirements. The swimming pools that will not meet the new requirements will have to be reconstructed, redesigned and reequipped.
