Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemns Stockholm terror attack

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration is to establish if the victims of the April 7 Stockholm terror attack, which resulted in four deaths and 15 persons hurt, include Moldovans. At the same time, the Ministry expresses its solidarity with the Swedish authorities, regret for the loss of human lives and compassion for the grieving families, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the Ministry.

Representatives of Moldova’s Embassy in Stockholm have made approaches to the local authorities to check if there are Moldovan citizens among those affected.

At least four people have been killed after a truck crashed into pedestrians on a busy shopping street in the center of Swedish capital Stockholm. The lorry is believed to have been stolen as the driver made a delivery nearby shortly before the attack.

Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven said his country was attacked and everything shows it was a terror attack, IPN reports, quoting Reuters.

At least four people have been confirmed dead while 15 people, both adults and children, were injured - nine of them seriously. Swedish police later reported they identified and arrested a suspect from a suburb in northern Stockholm who matches the photo and description made public after the attack. Security measures at the Swedish borders were stepped up.
