Ministry of Finances to allocate over 40 mln lei for refitting territories in 40 towns
The Ministry of Finances will allocate about 40.5 mln lei to the raion Councils, Balti Municipal Council and Autonomous Unit of Gagauzia in order to refit the towns, as part of the April-May environmental campaign.
The money, planned from the general revenues of the State Budget, is intended for the refit of 40 towns. The largest sum of money -2 mln – will be allocated to Balti municipality, while 1.5 mln lei will be distributed to Cahul, Orhei, Soroca and Ungheni towns each, the rest of urban settlements will benefit from sums ranging between 500,000 lei and 1 mln lei, depending on their size.
Local authorities shall also use their own financial means to refit the towns. The most productive will receive additional 1 mln lei from the state budget for the same purpose.
The present sanitation situation in many settlements of Moldova has determined the authorities to declare the year 2007 as a year of settlements’ sanitation. The project is designed to spur activities related to sanitation in the settlements of the country.
