Ministry of Education reacts to case of teacher suspected of perverse actions

The Ministry of Education considers the case of the Ungheni teacher suspected of perverse actions towards children is very serious. It thus asked for explanations to be provided urgently by the local education body, the principal of the school and other responsible persons, IPN reports.

In a press release, the Ministry says that this case will be monitored and disciplinary punishment will be imposed. The arrested man was suspended from post and faces up to seven years behind bars.

The male teacher from Ungheni aged 44 was remanded in custody for 30 days after the Center for Combatting Trafficking in Persons of the National Investigations Inspectorate was informed that this took perverse actions towards students during lessons. According to the police, surveillance cameras were installed and the teacher had been monitored during classes in May-June. It was thus proven that this took perverse actions towards at least two boys aged eight, whom he touched indecently and also took other actions of a sexual character.

Also, the teacher had sex with other men, including an ex-teacher of the same school, in the classroom, outside working hours.
