All the schools across the country operate as usual, and if any changes appear in relation to the ongoing natural gas crisis, the Ministry of Education will provide an update, it said in a press release.
The Ministry says the clarifications are being made so as to “dismiss the reports circulated in some media sources that schools might close down within the next two weeks, with students to be put on online learning, due to the energy crisis”. It appears that some media organizations “misinterpreted” one of the provisions of a decree issued by the National Emergencies Commission, says the Ministry.
On Wednesday the National Emergencies Commission decreed a state of alert in the natural gas sector. Today Moldovagaz repeatedly asked domestic consumers to cut on gas consumption, making sure to put their heating systems on hold while not at home, and corporate consumers to identify alternative fuel sources.
