Ministry of Economy & Trade kicks off information campaign on capital legalisation

The Ministry of Economy and Trade today launched an information campaign on capital legalisation, Minister Igor Dodon told a news conference. In his words, the amount of the legalised capital added up to nearly 50 million lei, which is a significant sum for Moldova, taking into account that the legalisation procedure has just started and that in other countries 90 percent of the capital was legalised during the last couple of days. As the information is confidential, the minister says neither he nor the prime minister knows which companies had their capital legalised, but estimates that some tens of companies have undergone the procedure. Capital can be legalised until 1 January 2009 by individuals and legal entities for a 5 percent fee, which is expected to bring revenues of 255 million lei to the 2008 state budget. The campaign includes several actions held concomitantly and aimed at informing the business community about the legalisation of capital, in agreement with the Law on Economy Liberalisation, which entered in effect on May 11 this year.
