The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) convened a Council of experts composed of economists, experts from financial services companies, representatives of the specialised NGOs, as well as the Business Association “Protect Business”, Foreign Investors Association, Banks Association of Moldova etc. Minister Igor Dodon says that MEC wants the Council involved actively in law’s drafting process, as representatives of the civil society and notorious experts in different economic fields. Dodon considers that the involvement of the Council of experts will significantly increase the quality of Ministry’s legislative initiatives. According to the decision made by MEC on Thursday, January 25, one of the first laws that will be analysed by the Council will be the draft Law of the internal trade. The Council will present proposals on the improvement of the aforementioned draft Law within one month. The drafts that will be promoted by MEC in 2007 will be the National Development Plan for 2008-2011, Law on the creation of industrial parks, Law on mortgage, Law of Private Public Partnership (PPP) etc.
