Working meeting involving district heads should be held quarterly. However, all the ministers should make weekly working visits to the country’s districts and the practice of holding the Government’s meetings in districts could be resume, Prime Minister Ion Chicu stated in a meeting of Cabinet members, district heads and mayors of Chisinau and Balti, IPN reports, quoting the Government’s press service.
“The key to success resides in efficient communication, a constructive and pragmatic dialogue between the executive and the local public authorities. We have a technocratic Government and we do not look at the district heads through the angle of their political orientation. The solving of the problems faced in districts and, in general, in the country is what matters for us,” stated Premier Chicu.
“I intend to visit each district by the end of January and to have discussions with all the decision makers. The steps that will follow after my field trip actually count for me.”
The Premier requested his colleagues to examine the problems enumerated by the local public authorities and to take action in accordance with the Government’s action plan.
At the end of the meeting, Ion Chicu called on all the district heads and mayors to make sure that they are sufficiently prepared for the cold season of the year by maintaining the piping system operational and ensuring the supply of heat to public institutions and dwellings and to support the socially deprived groups of people.
