President Maia Sandu congratulated the ministers, noting the investing of an upright Government consisting of honest persons is what hundreds of people, who went to the polls in the hope that the situation in the country will improve, wanted. “What you will manage to do while serving on this Government will represent an important element of your career. I will support you. Parliament will support you. You will enjoy the support of the development partners, but it is very important to also enjoy the support of the citizens. You should be near the citizens and discuss with them and any decision you take should start from citizens’ needs,” said President Sandu, urging the ministers to do their job with honor, dignity and courage.

Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița said the Government consists of a team of upright and well-intentioned professionals who are ready to put into practice the country transformation view formulated by Maia Sandu in the presidential elections of 2020 and by the Party of Action and Solidarity in the parliamentary elections of 2021. “We will work with abnegation and firmness to clear the state institutions of thieves and corrupt people so that the state institutions work to safeguard the interests of the citizens and public interest,” said Natalia Gavrilța. She thanked the PAS MPs for their trust, saying each of the Cabinet members is determined to show that the citizens can trust the state institutions.

Parliament gave a vote of confidence to the Government led by Natalia Gavrilița on August 6. The Cabinet was invested by the voters of 61 MPs of the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS). The MPs of the Bloc of the Communists and the Socialists and the Shor Party didn’t vote.
