Ministers and peasants should have equal pensions, Mihai Ghimpu
Acting President Mihai Ghimpu, in an interview for Radio Moldova, said the Liberal Party that he heads will plead in Parliament for the adoption of a law on a common pension system, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to Mihai Ghimpu, currently Moldova has an old, Soviet-type pension system, which is inappropriate for a democratic and independent country.
The head of state, MPs, prosecutors, ministers and many other public servants have very high pensions, while the ordinary people, workers, invalids and persons with seniority of 40 years have pensions with which they can barely make ends meet. The bill that the Liberal Party will put forward is aimed at evening pensions out, Mihai Ghimpu said.
The bill contains a new system for calculating pensions depending on the provided work, not the senior posts.
