Ministerial commission to assess ecological state in Tantareni

A commission set up by the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment will assess the ecological state in Tantareni village and around the local landfill. “The goal is to have a constructive dialogue and to suggest optimal solutions for effectively managing waste at the landfill in Tantareni. We will strictly supervise the actions taken by the local authorities to appropriately manage ecologically the local landfill and will monitor the situation so that the Chisinau City Hall and the cleanup company “Autosalubritate” honor their obligations,” said secretary of state Valentina Tapis, who heads the commission.

According to representatives of the Chisinau City Hall, most of the actions that refer to community development were implemented. The waste dump is to be secured. In this regard, the City Hall will ensure the construction of a water treatment station in Tantareni. A public tender contest to choose the contractor will be held in August.

Asa result of discussions, the sides decided that the laboratory of the Ecological Investigations Center of the Chisinau Ecological Agency will take samples from the Tantareni landfill and will periodically present the investigation data to the State Ecological Inspectorate. To ensure transparency in the sample taking process, representatives of the Tantareni local council will be invited to attend.
