The Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) put forward Minister of Culture Monica Babuc for the post of mayor general of Chisinau municipality. The announcement was made in a press briefing on May 4, IPN reports.
“This is surely an honor, but I also realize the responsibility borne not only by the elected mayor, but also by the person running for this post, as we know that the capital city is the admiral ship of a country and a people. The way in which this ship is directed decisively determines the way in which things go in this country,” said Monica Babuc.
She also said that together with her team, she will make effort to give the residents of Chisinau the feeling that they can live better and in a different way here too, as in the European capitals. “We will show that we are a team able to set nice objectives in this campaign,” stated the minister.
Alongside the candidate for the mayoralty of Chisinau, there were presented the candidates for the posts of municipal councilor. Among these are the current Chisinau councilor Valentin Guznac, Deputy Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Gheorghe Turcanu, and Deputy Minister of Economy Octavian Calmic.
