Minister of Foreign Affairs to attend Conference on Security Policy

Deputy prime-minister Andrei Stratan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration will participate in the 43rd Munich Conference on Security Policy on February 9-11 2007. According to a press release from the MFA the conference will bring together key officials of many countries in order to exchange opinions related to the policies in the field of peace and world security. The current edition will be attended by Angela Merkel, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Secretary General of the Council of Europe Javier Solana, NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, foreign and defence ministers. The issues tackled by the current edition are: EU as regional peace model, security and welfare; NATO and transatlantic relation, situation in the Middle and Near East, role of Russia in the world policies.
