Minister of Finance responds to allegations of inadequate transfers to schools and hospitals

Transfers to medical and educational institutions financed from the state budget have been fully completed. The statement was made on Thursday, February 23, by Minister of Finance Veaceslav Negruta in response to allegations made by MPs Igor Dodon and Mihai Godea. The duo requested a report after claiming that several medical and educational institutions delayed salary payments, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“All state-funded healthcare institutions received 100% of financing from the state budget. The second issue concerns medical institutions financed through medical services offered by the National Health Insurance Company (CNAM). In such cases, financing comes both from the state budget and the company’s own resources”, explained Veaceslav Negruta.
According to him, 2.2 billion lei are planned to be transferred from the state budget to CNAM. The February sum has already been paid. “There are no problems with the financing. Payments must be made fully and according to the schedule. If there is some concrete information about some institutions, please tell us and we’ll solve the issue with each institution separately”, said the minister.
The minister also referred to the education domain. He said that state-funded institutions received full financing for January and February. “The institutions funded by local public authorities are not within our jurisdiction”, he said.
According to the minister, the transfer of funds from the state budget to local public authorities is nearly finished. On Friday, the remaining 35 out of 322 million lei will be transferred according to the schedule.
The minister said that on February 23 there were delays in three administrative units because their budgets weren’t approved yet: UTA Gagauzia, Chisinau municipality and Briceni district. There are no other reasons for salary arrears.
