Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vasile Bumacov will have a meeting with the head of the Russian consumer rights watchdog Rospotrebnadzor Gennady Onishchenko in Moscow on September 20. The information was confirmed for IPN by the Ministry’s adviser on communication Constantin Rotaru.
The meeting will focus on the ensuring of the quality and safety of the Moldovan alcoholic beverages so that the Moldovan wine companies are able to resume exporting their products to the Russian market.
Russia imposed a ban on the imports of Moldovan wine and brandy 10 days ago. The chief of Rospotrebnadzor explained that the drinks are of a poor quality and can affect the consumers’ health.
