Minimum salary unified for all national institutions

As from September 1, the minimum salary will be unified for all institutions in the Republic of Moldova if Parliament adopts a bill to this effect that was approved by the Cabinet on Wednesday, IPN reports.

The rules for setting the salary in the public and real sectors are now different, but the proposed amendments will ensure an equivalent minimum guaranteed salary in any public institution, private company or self-managed entity.

The minimum salary is the minimum remuneration in lei set by the state for simple, unqualified work that the employer cannot diminish for a monthly or hourly work norm fulfilled by the employee.

Also, the bill promotes equitable pay raises in state-owned enterprises, enterprises with majority state capital and monopolist enterprises.

There will be introduced an article that regulates the remuneration of employees of public health facilities included in the mandatory health insurance system and of staff of the clinical departments of the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemițanu”.
