A minibus running on the Chisinau-Balti route collided head-on with a car that changed lanes on the wet roadway after speeding. As a result of the impact, a woman travelling on the minibus suffered injuries and was taken to the hospital.
Contacted by IPN for details, press officer of the Orhei Police Inspectorate Elena Băetrău said the accident happened on the R6 road. It was preliminarily determined that a BMW car driven by a man aged 29 failed to control the vehicle when reaching a dangerous turn and lost control of this due to the wet roadway. The car skidded towards the contraflow lane and collided head-on with a minibus transporting passengers.
Also, another car coming after the minibus crashed into this because it didn’t maintain a safe distance. It didn’t yet strike the minibus seriously.
A 33-year-old passenger of the minibus was taken by an ambulance to the Orhei District Hospital for medical care.
All the three drivers were given breath tests and these showed that none of them had drunk alcohol.
