The minibus route No. 141 may disappear as the company that manages it does not respect the contractual clauses and the minibuses are filled to capacity, acting head of the Public Transport and Communications Division Igor Gamretski said in the May 27 meeting of Chisinau City Hall officials, IPN reports.
“We have photos of minibuses running on this route. They are low capacity vehicles though the contract stipulates that there will be buses of a large or average capacity. We were warned by the police that the minibuses are overloaded and the number of thefts on these units of transport is on the rise,” said Igor Gamretski.
He also said that the company that manages this route sold several minibuses to another company. Thus, eight of the minibuses running on this route belong to another company and this is a violation. The route may be suspended and offered to another company.
Asked by the journalists if he knows that this route is managed by the brother of Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta and if its suspension does not represent political revenge, Igor Gamretski said that this is exclusively a matter of contract violation and passenger safety.
The minibus route No. 141 connects Chisinau and Cricova town. The municipal bus route No. 2 also goes to Cricova.
