Administrators of municipal minibus routes will have a meeting with Mayor General of Chisinau municipality Dorin Chirtoaca to discuss the public transport situation today, July 10.

The information was confirmed for IPN by the administrators of a number of minibus routes and by Chisinau City Hall officials responsible for relations with the media. The hour when the meeting will start is yet to be decided.

Contacted by IPN, the administrator of the minibus routes No. 104, 110, 171 and 174 Mihai Reus said the minibuses running on route No. 110 stopped work this morning, several hours after the beginning of the workday.

The drivers of the other routers haven’t worked since yesterday evening, following threats made by their colleagues from other minibus routes, who went on strike to protest against the low minibus fare and the police inspections that increased in number after two minibuses were involved in road accidents last week.
