Minibus passenger dies in severe car crash
A woman, 54, has died and eight passengers of a minibus were injured in a serious traffic accident involving two minibuses, occurred on Sunday morning.
According to Chisinau Road Police Inspector Ion Roscovanu, the accident happened in a crossroad where serious accidents often occur – Serghei Lazo and 31 August streets. Thus, as a result of the collision between a Mercedes-210D van, on route 101, full of passengers, and another van, Volkswagen-Transporter, driven by a man, 48, the first minibus overturned. One of the passengers died immediately, while another 8 passengers were wounded.
According to the cited source, the driver of Volkswagen, who did not give priority to the other minibus, is to be blamed for the crash. However, the police say that the other driver must share part of the blame, because he drove at high speed did not take into account the fact that he is responsible for the passengers he was carrying.
One person has died and another 19 have been injured as a result of 28 road accidents occurred in Chisinau on weekend. The police have traced 36 drivers under the influence, 35 who ignored the stop-light and 80 broke the speed regime.
