Mini-vacation for budget-funded employees

The budget-funded employees will have a mini-vacation on the occasion of International Women’s Day observed on March 8. As March 8 is a nonworking day for budget-funded institutions, the authorities decided to make March 7, which falls on a Monday, a rest day too, IPN reports.

Thus, the budget-funded employees will have a mini-vacation of four days between March 5 and March 8. Instead of March 7, the given employees will work on March 12.

International Women’s Day is celebrated annually on March 8 to commemorate both the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women and the discrimination and violence against them, which are still witnessed in many parts of the world. The United Nations instituted International Women’s Day in 1977 by a resolution of the UN General Assembly.
