Current champion Milsami Orhei began to recover after the hesitant start in the new season. The ‘red eagles’ beat Zaria Balti 3-0 in the ninth stage and is now three points away from the third-ranked Sheriff, IPN reports.

The goals for Milsami were scored by Surdu (9th minute), Bud (65th) and Diulgher (84th). “We scored a fully deserved victory. I’m glad that we managed to avoid goals as we received too many in the recent past. I hope we will continue the series of victories,” Milsami coach Iurie Osipenco told a news conference.

The other three matches of the ninth stage ended in a draw: Sheriff - Dacia 0-0, Petrocub-Hancesti - Academia 0-0, and Speranta - Saxan 0-0. Dinamo-Auto caused a surprise by beating away Zimbru 2-1. Thus, Zimbru lost the lead as Dacia has now by one point more. Sheriff remains third for now.
