The 28th national football championship began on April 1. Milsami and Zimbru met in the derby match in Orhei, IPN reports.
Without Golovatenco and Tigirlas, who suffered injuries, Zimbru created several important occasions for scoring. The biggest one was yet missed by the newly signed Burkina Faso striker Franck Yameogo. At the other pole, Igor Bugaiov scored the only goal of the match, in the 75th minute.
“I’m satisfied with the play of my team. We had five players younger than 21 on the field. These footballers will make progress from game to game,” Zimbru coach Marius Codescu told a news conference.
“We will do our best to bring more people on the stands,” said Milsami coach Veaceslav Rusnac.
The other matches of the first stage ended as follows: Sheriff - Petrocub-Hancesti 3-0, Sfantul Gheorghe - Dinamo-Auto 0-1 and Speranta - Zaria 0-0.
