The Automated Information System for Primary Healthcare, which should enable users to make an appointment online with a family doctor, among other possibilities, remains inoperative. Contacted by IPN, Ala Nemerenco, the minister of health, labor and social protection, said that all the information systems in the healthcare sector previously launched and which cost the state millions of euros, were poorly developed.
“We are now analyzing these systems to see how we can integrate them. They are poorly functional, underdeveloped and not available to everyone, they also have many deficiencies and for sure are not worth the money the country invested in them,” stated Ala Nemerenco. Authorities are looking for solutions to improve these systems without additional costs, because too much money has already been invested in these projects, added Ala Nemerenco.
Last summer, the Ministry announced that it is at the stage of completing the preparation and commissioning of the Automated Information System for Primary Health Care. Almost 6 million lei from the state budget had been set aside for finalization of the work. Initially, this system was supposed to be launched at the end of 2014, but it was never functional.
