In January-July 2007, the milk processing units purchased and processed about 65 thousand tonnes of milk, by 17.4% less than in the same period last year. The information was presented by the Chief of the Department of Acquisition and Processing of animal products of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, Ion Cretu, during a working session at the Ministry. According to him, the authorities are expected to remove any factors that determine an increase in the prices of dairy products, by maximally excluding expensive technological operations within the production cycle, optimizing the routes of transportation of raw material and final products, initiating consulting services between the operators of the dairy market in order to institute a Council on each product, according to the Law on the organization and functioning of the agricultural market. Minister Anatolie Gorodenco requested that an analysis of the structure of prices at each industrial unit is made, in order to maintain the prices of the dairy products at the same level.
