Militia hinders mobile ballot box’s access to Bender penitentiary

The Transnistrian militia did not allow the mobile ballot box to enter the penitentiary in Bender, the head of Promo-Lex Association Ion Manole has told Info-Prim Neo. According to Ion Manole, the Moldovan delegation to the Joint Control Commission this week has asked for permission to transport the mobile ballot box to the penitentiary in Bender, where there are persons eligible to vote. But the Transnistrian militia banned access to the territory. Ion Manole said the Joint Control Commission is non-functional. “We cannot see the purpose of this commission. It does not work and does not guarantee rights. The peacekeeping mission that consists mainly of Russian military men should be transformed into a civilly-mandated one involving foreign observers,” he stated. Another incident happened in Varnitsa. The members of the electoral bureau decided to close the polling place for several minutes in order to seal a new box as the first was full. According to Promo-Lex, this is a deviation from the electoral procedural norms.
