One hundred new students of the Military Academy of Armed Forces “Alexandru cel Bun” took the military oath today, August 30, in the square of the Arch of Triumph. For the first time, nine girls enrolled in the Academy. The students were blessed by the military parson, who officiated a holy service on this occasion, Info-Prim Neo reports. Colonel Mihail Buclis, rector of the Academy, wished the freshmen great achievements. “It’s a hard job they chose, but it’s noble become it contains faith, professionalism and care towards the soldiers of military units in service of our people”, said the colonel. Chief of Staff Vitalie Stoian declared that by taking the oath, the young people obtain the full status of militaries and will be entrusted with missions and responsibilities. From now on, each student must take responsibility for his or her deeds and take independent decisions. Enrolled girls claim they really wished to become militaries and are ready to give up fancy clothes for the uniforms, to wake up early in the morning and to undergo the necessary physical training. Elena, enrolled at the Academy, declared this was an important opportunity because she always dreamt to become a military and to wear the uniform. “I’m proud of it”, she said. “My parents are militaries and were a model for me so I want to set an example as well”, said another young woman Natalia. Eugen, a student of the “Alexandru cel Bun” University declared that each student of the institution was proud to study here. “We’ll have to make a lot of effort so that in four years we’ll become real militaries, officers of the armed forces, to defend Moldova’s statehood and integrity”, he added. The young recruits enroll in three specializations –infantry, artillery and communications. The length of studies is four years, during which they are fed, clothed and housed by the State.
